One can clearly about the good Doctor make his doctor. This happened at the Università degli Studi di Padova . The thesis is "Guy Boothby: THE 'Dr. NIKOLA' NOVELS (1895-1901)" and was written in 2010 by Emilio Zampieri. They can be downloaded free of charge from Padova University Digital Archive .
Zampieri is (not very flattering for Boothby) preceded his work a quote from RL Stevenson:
